PowerPoint Tutorial: Use a Color Background Template
Step1: Under “Format”, click on the “Slide Design” tab.

Step 2: The “Slide Design” column will appear on the right.

Step 3: Click on “Color Schemes” in the “Slide Design” right hand column.

Step 4: Choose the color template layout you know. The font color is also pre-set nicely if you do it this way.

Note that you can always change the color of your background by right clicking on the page and click on the “background” tab as shown below.

The problem of this option is that the color of the default font and charts might not match up.
However, you can also add special effects to your background color as shown below

Choose the desired effects from the pop-up box.

Your ending slide could then end up looking something similar as below:
