PowerPoint Tutorial: Custom Animation: Emphasis Part II- Animation List
Here is a list of Emphasis animation effects available in Microsoft 2003:

The emphasis effects could always be applied to text, pictures or objects that are already shown on a slide. Thus, PowerPoint users very often apply emphasis effects on objects that also have an Entrance effect.
You can also apply two or more emphasis effects on one object. For instance, you could bold your text when you are talking about it. Then, apply the Transparency effect to make it transparent.
