University A++ Presentation Tricks Series: Dual Speakers Presentation

This presentation tip is in the category:  University A++ Presentation Tricks Series

To give myself some creditability to start with, I have done lots of school presentations during my BBA degree and MBA degree.  Most of the time, the Professors do not solely look for a professional presentation.  They also look for an entertaining presentation that could keep the class concentrated.  I have tried many different tricks in my presentations and finally came up with a formula that helped me get close to full mark every time I present.  I will share all my secrets with you in this series.

Do you remember those shows that the hosts interview the guests? Or, do you remember those events that there are two MCs talking with each other?  There is a reason why they do it.  It is because a dual-speaker presentation is entertaining!  There are also other advantages in presenting in a dual mode:

  • Presenting in a dual mode helps beginner presenter to calm down.  When there is another person beside you, you are usually not as nervous.
  • It helps your group to overcome the problem of “everybody needs to present” issue when some of your group members do not have mature presentation skills.  These people can simply be responsible for asking questions in a presentation.  Furthermore, the better speakers can always pair up with beginner speaks and help them when they struggle.
  • If one speaker is simply responsible for asking questions while the other one responsible for answering, it makes it easier for the audience to follow.
  • Finally, it is good to look different from others.  You will wake up the crowd simply by doing a dual-speaker presentation.  Plus, it is generally kind of interesting to the audience when there are two people presenting.

I have personally tried using the dual presentation mode many times in my presentations.  I have received great feedback every time and many from my class started copying this trick.
